Professionally Unprofessional

Hey, I’m Raynetta, most call me Ray –I am a paradox of truths wrapped in a Milwaukee girl who skipped class in high school to hang out ……on a college campus. (Yes, you read that right. Ambition with a side of teenage rebellion.)
I’m someone who loves Jesus… and has to consistently work on not doing or saying some wild sh&^ from time to time. It’s complicated. I’m still figuring out my purpose in ministry because the last thing I want to be is a hypocrite. Aye and sometimes I am but I mean, we all out here trying to do the right thing…I hope. I am constantly asking what are the tools we need to be better humans? Showing up in the world requires us to be our best selves right?
Professionally, I’m caught in this weird space between being a capitalist who’s all about the grind and an idealist who wants to uplift communities and challenge the status quo. It’s like living with one foot in the boardroom and the other in the WIC office. (I’ve been in both) Honestly, it’s lonely out here in these conflicting thoughts. Maybe you get it?
I’ve spent years chasing outcomes running past, the title, the milestones, the shiny accolades, only to realize I might be speeding past the real value: the process. Could it be that engaging in this way will slow LIFE down enough for me to appreciate it? Maybe it will for you, too. Let’s figure this out together because, frankly, 2020 feels like it was 5 years ago, BECAUSE IT WAS!! And is time is running on caffeine and chaos. If you’re here, you’re choosing to be part of this vulnerable journey.
Thanks for being curious.
